Made to Flourish

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
—Matthew 5:8

Jesus was the greatest teacher who ever lived. Yes, he was more than a teacher, but he certainly wasn’t less. His most famous sermon (or teaching) is called “The Sermon on the Mount.” It is, likely, the most famous sermon that’s ever been preached. In it he gives us a vision for the “good life.” The supreme philosopher, tells us what life is truly all about. It contains over fifty commands; but to call it a rulebook sells it short. It is quoted by people of all stripes and walks of life. It is nothing less than a blueprint for how humanity can flourish. Jesus invites us to experience abundant life. But it is often counterintuitive and subversive to the messaging around us. Do you long to flourish? Take a seat at the feet of Jesus as he pulls back the curtain on what we’re made for. He’s saved you a seat in his classroom, and promises his way is easier and better than all the other offers from lesser teachers.
